Description
Project consisted of repairing cracked and failing concrete on its pellet storage silos. Structures are in excess of 50 years old and were in need of general refurbishment. Repairs required were small areas of loose material requiring replacement and cracks requiring epoxy injection.Work scope encompassed supply and installation of all materials required which included structural steel, rebar, anchors, concrete, epoxy, grout, primer, paint, etc.

Removal and installation of Section 6 regrind mill liners.

Description
Replacing four (4) Bypass Stacks and Expansion Joints in the Pellet Plant:
A) Furnace 11 Waste Gas Bypass Stack, B) Furnace 11 Hood Exhaust Bypass Stack, C) Furnace 12 Hood Exhaust Bypass Stack, and D) Furnace 5 Waste Gas Bypass Stack. The work scope involved dismantling and removal of the existing Stack and Joint materials and the installation of the new system.

Replacement of the #2 Pan Feeder in the Crusher at Silver Bay due to high tonnage and the need for updating the existing pan feeder. Project included: Demolition of the existing pan feeder, installation of new Metso Pan Feeder, alignment of gear box to pan feeder, installation of new liners, fabrication and replacement of new guarding, dust contentment/inspection doors, and floor decking.

Design & Install Platforms on Surge Bin at a local rail-yard
Description
The customer requested new platforms to improve the speed and safety of maintenance repair work on the iron ore dock surge bin. Two new platforms were designed to fit the existing framework. IMS engineers designed the structures to meet the specifications provided by the customer. The finished product featured a much higher load limit for repair equipment and personnel, and complies with all required safety standards.

Automated Pocket Doors Installation at Ore Docks in Marquette, Michigan
Description
Project was performed at the ore dock located in the Upper Harbor in Marquette, Michigan near the discharge of the Dead River. The ore dock was 1,200 feet long, 75 feet high from water level to base of rails and 54 feet wide on the deck which carries 4 lines of rails. The dock has 100 ore pockets on each side. The dock is supported on about 10,000 timber piles having a penetration of about 20 feet into the sandy soil present below the bottom of Lake Superior. IMS replaced 67 of the existing manual operated pocket doors with 67 Guillotine style automated doors. IMS was responsible for retrofit of new doors into existing location, regrinding, precision torch cutting, and field fit welding of new doors into existing structure.
