Demolish Trestle
Project consisted of all labor, materials, tools, and equipment required to demolish the remaining overhead trestle system from the old gas main at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. The old Gas main was still serving the campus. Removal of the trestle involved temporary beams and supports to hold the existing main gas line and meter set in place while the old trestle columns and footings were removed. The new structure was then constructed to house the new gas main and meter set, plumbing from the meter to the gas main was set, and new service was then switched over and connected to the existing gas main within Building #7. Old, abandoned gas main was then removed, along with removal and replacement of fencing, retaining walls, and concrete sidewalks. Work included plumbing, electrical, excavation/removal, fill, compaction, concrete, painting, patching, sheet metal, storm sewer, erosion control and landscaping.
