Balling Roof Replacement

We performed over 550 hours of work managing a crew that was provided to us by the plant removing and reinstalling the center section, about 250 squares, of the balling roof. All of our work was completed over operating equipment so great care was taken to protect the workers, equipment and operations of the equipment. No time was lost by any aspect of the project.
Tasks Completed:
- Removed and disposed of the center section on the balling roof between the 18.1 and 18.2 conveyors which was about 250 squares of rubber membrane, insulation and roof decking.
- Installed a new Firestone which consisted of the new corrugated decking, Densdeck, vapor barrier, insulation and rubber membrane. With this system the only layer that is mechanically fastened is the Densdeck, all other layers are adhered down with glue.
- Installed new roof drains down to the header pipes below the roof.
- Installed new handrails near the roof edges.
